FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Florida Gators baseball team delivered a program milestone Sunday, March 29, 2026, rallying for a 7-6 victory over No. 4 Arkansas at Baum-Walker Stadium to complete a three-game sweep. It marked UF's first road sweep of a top-five opponent since the NCBWA poll began in 1998 and the highest-ranked such feat in the Kevin O'Sullivan era, now in its 19th season.[1] The Gators, who entered the weekend 20-6 overall and 3-3 in SEC play, pounded out a season-high 17 hits, with all nine starters recording at least one.[1]
Key contributors powered the offensive barrage: Cade Kurland went 2-for-4, Ty Evans and Jac Caglianone added multi-hit games, and pitchers Liam Peterson and Fisher Jameson held the Razorbacks in check despite late drama. Arkansas, now 19-10 overall and 4-5 in the SEC, fought back but couldn't overcome Florida's resilience after sweeping top-10 foes in a perfect 4-0 week.[1] This triumph avenged a prior SEC skid and extended UF's dominance, winning eight of nine league series dating to 2025.[1]
Back in Gainesville at Condron Ballpark, the sweep bolsters Florida's SEC standing and in-state prowess, later affirmed by a midweek 4-3 home win over No. 5 Florida State on April 7, sweeping the season series and going 12-1 against Sunshine State rivals.[2] The Gators, 25-9 after the FSU victory and 8-0 versus ranked teams, eye upcoming clashes like Georgia Southern.[2] With SEC play heating up, UF's road warrior mentality positions them for a deep postseason run from their North Central Florida base.
