Florida Tourism Hits New Peak as 2025 Shatters All Records

National Desk
April 19, 2026
Florida closed out 2025 as its strongest tourism year on record, with the fourth quarter alone drawing an estimated 33.5 million visitors—the highest quarterly visitation in state history. The full-year total of 143.3 million visitors surpassed 2024's previous record of 143.0 million, cementing Florida's position as the nation's tourism juggernaut. The economic impact proved equally staggering. Florida's tourism industry generated over $142.9 billion in visitor spending during 2024, a 23 percent increase from 2021's $101.9 billion as the state rebounded from pandemic-related declines. This recovery trajectory demonstrates how aggressively Florida has reclaimed its market share in the competitive U.S. travel landscape. The spring and early summer months proved particularly robust. Between January and March 2025, Florida attracted 41.19 million visitors, including 37.85 million domestic travelers, 2.11 million international visitors, and 1.23 million Canadians. Florida's appeal spans leisure travelers seeking beaches and theme parks to international tourists drawn by the state's year-round climate and diverse attractions. Governor Ron DeSantis has repeatedly highlighted tourism growth as evidence of Florida's economic strength and business-friendly policies. The state's tourism board credits aggressive marketing, infrastructure investments, and the continued expansion of major attractions as drivers of record-breaking visitation. Looking ahead, industry analysts expect Florida to maintain its tourism dominance, though economic uncertainties and increased competition from other destinations could moderate growth rates. Nevertheless, the state's established position as America's premier vacation destination—backed by consistent record-breaking years—suggests tourism will remain a cornerstone of Florida's $1.4 trillion economy.
