Englewood Library Announces New Digital Literacy Workshops
Englewood Public Library, located at 313 N. Indiana Avenue in the heart of historic downtown Englewood, is set to launch a series of free digital literacy workshops starting next week. Designed to help residents navigate the increasingly digital world, these workshops will cover essential skills from basic computer operation to online safety and using popular applications.
The first session, "Introduction to Computers and the Internet," will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the library's main computer lab. Subsequent workshops will delve into topics such as email management, social media basics, and identifying online scams. Library Director Sarah Jenkins stated, "We recognize the growing need for these skills in our community. Our goal is to empower Englewood residents with the knowledge to confidently use technology for work, communication, and personal enrichment." This is particularly relevant for Charlotte County's coastal residents who value staying connected amid the serene Gulf Coast lifestyle.
All workshops are free and open to the public, but space is limited. Residents interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance by visiting the library's front desk or calling 941-474-9624. A full schedule of upcoming workshops is available on the library's bulletin board and will be updated regularly.
