Developers Pledge $31M Over 30 Years to Little Haiti Revitalization Trust
National Desk
May 12, 2026
The City of Miami's Little Haiti Revitalization Trust (LHRT) will receive $31 million over 30 years from developers Bob Zangrillo's Dragon Global, Montreal-based Lune Rouge and Plaza Equity Partners. The commitment stems from approval conditions for projects including over 10,000 new apartments and 1 million square feet of commercial space in Little Haiti and adjacent Little River, according to city records and developer statements. LHRT, located at 212 NE 59th Terr., Miami, FL 33137, confirmed the funding policy supports economic development, affordable housing and community programs (miami.gov/My-Government/Boards-Committees/Little-Haiti-Revitalization-Trust-LHRT).
Ahead of breaking ground on phase one, developers advanced $6 million to LHRT, which is already funding small-business grants, home rehabilitation, a home ownership program and trade school scholarships for residents, per LHRT board member Milord's statements. The Sixty Uptown, a 25-story, 249-unit tower, anchors the initial phase near NE 62nd Street. LHRT also offers up to $5,000 Placemaking Grants for educational programs and homebuyer assistance for down payments and closing costs in the neighborhood, in partnership with the city's Department of Housing and Community Development.
This influx bolsters LHRT's mission amid a $2.6 billion Miami-Dade revitalization plan approved in April, which includes community benefits. Recently, LHRT approved a $1 million loan and $300,000 grant for affordable housing development. As development accelerates, funds target job creation, park enhancements and cultural preservation in the historic Little Haiti corridor along NE 2nd Avenue.
Local residents face broader pressures from South Florida's 11,000-acre Everglades wildfire, which is impacting air quality; check miamidade.gov for real-time AQI updates and limit outdoor time if levels exceed 100. With gas prices dipping to $4.40 per gallon statewide, the LHRT homebuyer program offers timely relief amid rising costs from national tariffs. Contact LHRT at 305-960-2964 or [email protected] for grant applications.
