Alamosa County Detention Center Visitation Policy Updates
Alamosa County Detention Center has updated its visitation policy effective immediately.
The facility offers two types of visits: web visits Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Sunday starts at 8 a.m.), and lobby visits Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Tuesday hours from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. All visits last 20 minutes and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Web visits are designated for inmate canteen transactions only.
All visits are non-contact, monitored, and subject to cancellation at staff discretion. Staff will deny entry to visitors who appear under the influence, use profane language, wear provocative clothing, or engage in disorderly behavior. Visitors cannot bring cell phones, food, drink, weapons, or items deemed inappropriate by a deputy sheriff.
Inmates on Suicide Watch cannot receive visits without approval from the mental health unit. Introducing contraband results in criminal charges and loss of visiting privileges. Tampering with video visiting devices may result in felony charges. The detention center is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items brought by visitors.
