Update: Citizen Assist Dispatched to Mandalay Avenue Fire; Three Units Now Responding

CLEARWATER BEACH – Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department has dispatched an additional unit to 483 Mandalay Avenue, bringing the total number of responding units to three, according to emergency dispatch. The initial call, a structure fire, was reported at 11:31 PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Emergency dispatch logs now indicate the incident also involves a 'Citizen Assist (FIRE).'

Initially, two units (E46, PD2) were dispatched. The new dispatch of an additional unit means emergency crews are actively responding to both the reported structure fire and to assist a citizen at the scene, according to emergency dispatch.

Motorists are still advised to avoid the area near 483 Mandalay Avenue and anticipate possible road closures as emergency personnel continue to work. The nature of the citizen assist is not yet known.
