Sheriff’s Office Warns of Phone Scam

Covington residents are advised to be vigilant following multiple reports of a phone scam targeting our close-knit community along the Ohio River. The Kenton County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning after individuals received calls from scammers impersonating law enforcement officials.

According to the Sheriff's Office, these scammers are demanding money from their victims. Authorities emphasize that these calls are fraudulent and urge the public not to provide any personal information or money to these individuals.

The Kenton County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens that legitimate law enforcement agencies will not demand money over the phone. If you receive such a call, it is a scam.

For any questions or to report a suspicious call, residents are encouraged to contact the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office directly at 859-392-1920.
