DeLauter's breakout slowed by injury, hopefully not for long

LOS ANGELES – Guardians rookie right fielder Chase DeLauter exited Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers with a left foot contusion. The injury occurred in the top of the first inning when DeLauter fouled a pitch off his foot.

A trainer checked on DeLauter following the incident, but he remained in the game to complete his at-bat, ultimately grounding out. Further details regarding the severity or expected recovery time for DeLauter's injury were not immediately available, but fans in Dunedin, home to the Guardians' spring training facility, are hoping for his quick return.
