Catholic Charities Seeks Development Officer for Stamford Family Center and New Covenant Center
Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is actively seeking a Development Officer to bolster fundraising efforts for its Stamford Family Center (CCSFC) and New Covenant Center (NCC). The position, based in Stamford, is full-time, hybrid, and includes benefits.
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the new Development Officer will work closely with the Directors of the Stamford Family Center and the New Covenant Center. A primary focus will be to promote the brands of both the CCSFC and NCC among community partners, civic organizations, corporations, private foundations, religious organizations, and individual donors in Fairfield County, including those from Norwalk's vibrant SoNo district.
Key responsibilities for the role include maintaining and implementing strategies for NCC’s fundraising operations to ensure sustainability and organizational growth. The individual will collaborate with the Director of New Covenant Center, its Advisory Board and Chairperson, and Catholic Charities’ Director of Philanthropy to cultivate a larger donor base and expand NCC/SFC programs.
Specific accountabilities involve working with the CCSFC Director and Advisory Council to secure sponsorships and ticket sales for the annual Summer Soiree fundraiser, as well as assisting with the Annual Holiday Appeal and other fundraising initiatives. The Development Officer will also be responsible for nurturing relationships with current top-tier donors and identifying new individual and corporate prospects. This includes creating and managing an annual development outreach strategy targeting the top 50–100 donors within the Raiser’s Edge database, and securing additional funding through community outreach.
The role also encompasses overseeing the solicitation of existing private and government grants, researching new grant opportunities, and conducting market analysis to identify development trends. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
Candidates should possess a college degree and experience in non-profit development and fundraising, or similar sales/development experience in the private sector. Networking experience with various groups, database management, and building external partnerships are also preferred qualifications. Proficiency in Office 365, Raiser’s Edge, and other established technology platforms is essential.
Interested applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest along with their resume to Chrissa Ventrelle, Director of Philanthropy ([email protected]), and John Gutman, Director, Stamford Family Center ([email protected]). Inquiries from staffing agencies will not be accepted. Catholic Charities is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
