Data Analyzers Recovers Baby Photos from 'Unrecoverable' Micro SD Card

Casselberry, Florida-based data recovery specialists, Data Analyzers, recently achieved a significant recovery, retrieving cherished baby photos for a local family from a SanDisk 64GB Micro SD card that had previously been deemed unrecoverable by another lab. The successful operation highlights the specialized expertise available right here in Seminole County for complex data loss situations.

The client's Micro SD card presented a formidable challenge, failing to initialize when connected to a card reader or camera. While the previous recovery company could access raw data, they were unable to correct errors and thus could not recover any complete files. Data Analyzers' initial inspection revealed that the card had already undergone significant physical manipulation, with its top layer sanded down to expose contacts and solder residue present from prior wiring attempts – standard procedures for advanced recovery, but requiring precise execution.

The team at Data Analyzers began by meticulously cleaning the chip and examining it under a microscope. They identified that the card utilized a common physical layout for SanDisk Micro SD cards. By comparing it to their proprietary pinouts (schematics), they discovered multiple damaged traces, specifically the D4 and R/B signals, which are critical for data recovery. These damages were likely a result of improper removal of the top layer or excessive heat during previous soldering attempts.

Fortunately, the endpoints of the damaged traces remained intact, providing enough material for Data Analyzers' technicians to reattach wires through precision micro-soldering. This intricate process allowed them to successfully connect the card to their chip reader and achieve proper identification.

The chip's ID, "45 3E AA A2," typically indicates an issue with uncorrectable bit errors, often leading to incomplete recoveries. This explained why the previous company failed. Undeterred, Data Analyzers explored various reading retry algorithms and adjusted power voltages to the data and power lines, understanding that certain chips require specific commands for optimal reading quality. After several weeks of dedicated effort, they were able to reassemble a complete file system, recovering approximately 95% of the client's invaluable baby photos. This success demonstrates Data Analyzers' capability to tackle and resolve complex data recovery cases where others have failed.
