Cape Coral Celebrates Second Consecutive Tree City of the World Honor from Arbor Day Foundation

Cape Coral received the 2025 Tree City of the World designation from the Arbor Day Foundation, marking the second consecutive year the city has earned this recognition. The designation acknowledges Cape Coral's commitment to planting, growing, and maintaining trees within the community.

This recognition highlights the city's ongoing efforts in urban forestry. To achieve the Tree Cities of the World designation, Cape Coral met five core standards for tree management. These standards include establishing clear responsibility for tree care, enacting laws or policies governing tree and forest management, maintaining an updated assessment of local tree resources, allocating funds for a comprehensive tree management plan, and holding an annual celebration of trees to educate residents.

The Tree Cities of the World program operates as a partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. This collaboration ensures participating cities meet global standards for urban tree management and sustainability.
