Cape Coral Launches Free Home Repair Program for Eligible Residents in Partnership with Rebuilding Together Greater Florida
Cape Coral launched a new program offering free home repairs to income-eligible homeowners, a collaboration with Rebuilding Together Greater Florida (RTGFL). The initiative aims to ensure safe and stable housing for residents.
The program provides essential repairs, accessibility upgrades, and specialized work on roofing, plumbing, and electrical systems. It also includes support for disaster readiness and recovery, helping residents prepare for and bounce back from severe weather events.
To qualify for assistance, applicants must own and reside in the home for which they seek repairs. They cannot own other residential properties. Homeowners must also meet specific income requirements and be current on their mortgage and property taxes.
The City of Cape Coral began working with RTGFL on this program on March 20, 2026, to address the need for affordable home maintenance and safety improvements within the community.
Residents interested in the program can check their eligibility and apply online at RTGFL.org. For those needing assistance with the application process, they can call 239-229-6392.
