Broadway Babies Shine at Newberry Community Players Auditions
Newberry’s budding theatrical talent was on full display this past weekend as the Newberry Community Players held auditions for their upcoming children's musical, "Broadway Babies." Young performers from across the town gathered at the Newberry Community Theater on historic Main Street, eager to showcase their singing, dancing, and acting skills.
The auditions, held on Saturday, April 10th, and Sunday, April 11th, saw a strong turnout of enthusiastic children, many of whom are familiar faces from local school plays and church pageants. Directors noted the impressive range of talent, making the casting decisions a delightful challenge.
"It's truly inspiring to see so many young people in Newberry passionate about the performing arts," said Sarah Jenkins, the show's director, after Sunday's auditions. "The energy and talent these kids bring are incredible. We're looking forward to putting together a fantastic show that the whole community will enjoy."
"Broadway Babies" promises to be a heartwarming production, offering a chance for Newberry's youngest stars to shine. Rehearsals are set to begin next month, with performance dates to be announced later this summer. Keep an eye on the Newberry Community Players' marquee for more details on tickets and showtimes.
