Boise State Lands Historic No. 51 Recruiting Class for 2026 Broncos
National Desk
April 23, 2026
BOISE, Idaho (Day.News) — Boise State Broncos football announced its 2026 recruiting class on national signing day, vaulting to No. 51 nationally in 247Sports composite rankings — the program's best ever, surpassing the No. 53 class from 2011 under Chris Petersen.[1][2] The 29-player group, including 27 high school recruits, one junior college safety and a Swedish edge rusher, boasts 202.9 points and an 86.5 average recruit rating, leading all Group of Five programs and the revamped Pac-12 ahead of Boise State's entry.[1][2] Standouts include four-star wide receiver Terrious Favors from Atlanta's Carver High School, the first 2026 commit who held firm as his stock rose, and four-star offensive tackle Kole Cronin from Reno's Bishop Manogue High School.[1][2][3]
Head coach Spencer Danielson, steering the Broncos into the Pac-12 era, flipped three-star quarterback Cash Herrera from Indiana and added Jackson Taylor from California's Oaks Christian, bolstering the quarterback pipeline.[1][2][3] Other high-profile signees: No. 50 athlete Mariyon Sloan from Shafter, California; No. 35 pro-style passer Jackson Taylor; and A.J. Logan, a top-200 wide receiver from Spring Valley, California.[3] The class edges Pac-12 rivals like Texas State (No. 61) and Colorado State (No. 62).[1][2]
Idaho pride shines through with two Meridian High talents: tight end Ryan Brekke from Owyhee High, committed June 14, 2025, and defensive end Rowan Rupp from Rocky Mountain High, who signed June 24.[3] These local commits join a roster blending West Coast speed — like San Diego safety Romeo Carter — and national reach, from Texas corner Jayden Flournoy to Alaska defensive tackle Deuce Alailefaleula.[3] With Alberts Field upgrades and Pac-12 visibility on the horizon, Broncos boosters see a playoff contender emerging in Boise's blue turf stronghold.
