Berkeley Families Give Back

Tampa residents are seeing the positive impact of community spirit, as families from Berkeley Preparatory School recently dedicated their time and efforts to various local organizations. This annual tradition, known as "Berkeley Gives Back," saw students, parents, and faculty volunteering across the Tampa Bay area, reinforcing the school's commitment to service.

On Saturday, April 5, 2026, groups fanned out to assist a range of non-profits, providing much-needed support. One notable effort involved a team working at Feeding Tampa Bay's main distribution center, helping to sort and pack thousands of pounds of food that will reach families facing food insecurity across Hillsborough County and the region. Another contingent spent the morning at the Hillsborough River State Park, participating in a clean-up initiative that focused on trail maintenance and litter removal, ensuring the park remains a beautiful and accessible resource for Tampa Bay area residents.

Further demonstrating their dedication, volunteers also contributed to local animal shelters, assisting with facility cleaning, animal enrichment, and preparing adoption packets. The broad scope of their activities touched upon environmental conservation, hunger relief, and animal welfare, showcasing a diverse approach to community service.

Organizers of the event expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic participation, noting that the day not only provided tangible assistance to local charities but also fostered a deeper sense of civic responsibility among the students. The initiative serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the difference local residents can make when they come together to support their community.
