Beach School News
As of April 8, 2026, Fort Myers Beach Elementary School continues to be a focal point for community engagement and educational development. The school, located at 2751 Oak Street, recently announced its upcoming annual Spring Carnival, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the school grounds. This event is a significant fundraiser for the school's enrichment programs and facility improvements, including the ongoing renovation of the school library.
Parents and community members are encouraged to attend and support the students. The carnival will feature various games, food stalls, and a silent auction with items donated by local businesses along Estero Boulevard, the island's vibrant main thoroughfare. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the purchase of new educational technology for classrooms and playground equipment upgrades, as outlined in the recent Parent-Teacher Association meeting minutes from April 2.
Additionally, the school board is expected to review proposals for a new after-school tutoring program at their next public meeting on April 15 at the Fort Myers Beach Town Hall, a longstanding hub for island residents. This initiative aims to provide additional academic support for students in grades 3-5, addressing a need identified by teachers and parents during recent school surveys.
