2026 National Merit Semi-Finalists Announced

Clay County is celebrating academic excellence as the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced its list of Semi-Finalists for 2026. While specific names and schools within Clay County have not yet been released by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the community eagerly anticipates recognizing these high-achieving students from neighborhoods across the county, like Orange Park and Green Cove Springs.

The National Merit Scholarship Program identifies academically talented high school students across the country. Semi-Finalists represent the highest-scoring entrants in each state and will now have the opportunity to compete for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million, which will be offered next spring. These scholarships are a significant achievement, recognizing students for their exceptional academic promise.

Local school officials are expected to share details about Clay County's Semi-Finalists as soon as they receive official notification. The entire community looks forward to congratulating these students on their outstanding accomplishments and wishing them success as they move forward in the competition.
