Morning commuters in the Tualatin Valley, Inner Portland Metro, West Central Willamette Valley, and East Central Willamette Valley should prepare for areas of dense fog this morning. A Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland, OR, at 6:52 AM PDT on October 5, 2026, warns of rapidly changing visibility on roadways.

Roadway visibility is currently less than one mile in some areas. This advisory is effective immediately and expires at 10:00 AM PDT today, October 5, 2026.

Drivers are advised to slow down, use headlights, and maintain increased following distance. Pedestrians and cyclists should wear bright or reflective clothing and carry a light to enhance their visibility to drivers.
