Gusty Showers Bring 55 MPH Winds to Central Laramie Range, Platte, Goshen Counties

Residents in Central Laramie Range, Southwest Platte County, East Platte County, Goshen County, South Laramie Range Foothills, and Central Laramie County should prepare for gusty showers with winds up to 55 mph. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne, WY, issued a Special Weather Statement today, October 10, 2026, at 2:22 PM MDT, effective until 3:15 PM MDT.
Doppler radar indicates gusty showers are tracking northeast at 30 mph, extending from near Westview Circle to 8 miles west of Chugwater. These wind gusts pose a risk of knocking down tree limbs and blowing around unsecured objects.
Impacted locations include Wheatland, Guernsey, Fort Laramie, Chugwater, Yoder, Hartville, and surrounding areas. If you are outdoors, the National Weather Service advises seeking shelter inside a building immediately.
