
Gulfport Council Discusses Sanitation Ordinance & Senior Committee
Gulfport City Council met Feb. 3, 2026, to consider a sanitation ordinance and a resolution to sunset the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee on Aging. Discussions also included traffic and community inclusivity.

Gulfport City Council reviewed new ordinances and resolutions during its Feb. 3, 2026, meeting at City Hall, 2401 53rd Street South, which began at 6 p.m.
The council heard a proclamation recognizing First Contact, formerly 211 Tampa Bay Cares. Sasha St. Felix, the organization's director, accepted the proclamation. Mayor Love also discussed traffic flow and speed limits in the downtown district.
Council members approved minutes from the Jan. 20, 2026, meeting. They also held the first reading of Ordinance No. 2026-02, which would amend Chapter 12, Health and Sanitation, to address residential lighting nuisances. The ordinance requires further review.
Additionally, the council considered two resolutions. Resolution No. 2026-06 proposed sunsetting the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee on Aging. Resolution No. 2026-07 affirmed the city's commitment to being an all-inclusive community.
