Free Breakfasts & Lunches for Kids in St. Petersburg
The City of St. Petersburg provides free breakfasts and lunches to children and teens 18 and younger at 17 locations through August 7. The Parks and Recreation Department runs the program at recreation centers, libraries, and parks while schools are closed. No registration, application, or proof of income is required.
Most sites serve both breakfast and lunch. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, Dell Holmes Park, Johnson Community Library, and President Barack Obama Main Library serve lunch only. Breakfast runs from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., while lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., depending on the location.
Participating recreation centers include Campbell Park, Childs Park, Frank Pierce, Gladden Park, Lake Vista, Roberts, Shore Acres, Thomas "Jet" Jackson, Walter Fuller, Willis S. Johns, W. Cate, and TASCO Center for Teen Technology. Camp Redbird at Azalea Recreation Center also participates.
No meals are served June 19 at Dell Holmes Park and library locations, or July 4 at any site.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program funds the initiative in partnership with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. For more information, visit stpeteparksrec.org/summerfood or call 727-893-7441.
