Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Seek Shelter Immediately in Bledsoe and Sequatchie Counties

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for northern Sequatchie County and southwestern Bledsoe County, Tennessee, effective immediately until 5:45 PM CDT today, September 20, 2026. The National Weather Service in Morristown urges residents in the affected areas to seek shelter.

At 5:05 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles northwest of Dunlap, moving southeast at 10 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail. Expected impacts include damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations that may be impacted include Dunlap, Palio, Old Cumberland, and Cagle.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This warning is in effect for a limited time, expiring at 5:45 PM CDT.
