Strong Thunderstorm Warning: Gusts Up to 45 mph for Sequatchie, Bledsoe
A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Sequatchie and Bledsoe counties, including Dunlap and surrounding areas, warning of a strong thunderstorm with wind gusts up to 45 mph until 5:30 PM CDT; residents outdoors should seek immediate shelter.
Residents in Sequatchie and Bledsoe counties, especially those near Dunlap, Palio, Old Cumberland, and Cagle, should seek shelter indoors due to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Morristown TN.
A strong thunderstorm, detected by Doppler radar at 4:46 PM CDT, is tracking 11 miles north of Dunlap, moving southeast at 10 mph. This storm is expected to bring wind gusts up to 45 mph. The National Weather Service warns that these gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
This Special Weather Statement is effective immediately, issued September 20 at 4:47 PM CDT, and is set to expire at 5:30 PM CDT today. If you are outdoors in the affected areas, consider seeking shelter inside a building for your safety during this period.
