Strong Storms Near Gold Canyon: Gusty Winds and Hail Expected

At 4:59 PM MST, Doppler radar detected a strong thunderstorm 8 miles north of Queen Valley, moving west at 20 mph. This storm is expected to bring wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea-size hail. Gusty winds could cause minor damage to outdoor objects, knock down tree limbs, and blow around unsecured items.
The affected areas include Rio Verde/Salt River, East Valley, Fountain Hills/East Mesa, Southeast Valley/Queen Creek, Superior, Northwest Pinal County, Apache Junction/Gold Canyon, and the Pinal/Superstition Mountains. Specific locations impacted are Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Queen Creek, Superstition Mountains, Lost Dutchman State Park, Goldfield, Canyon Lake, Queen Valley, Saguaro Lake, and Tortilla Flat.
