Day.News – A Dust Advisory has been issued for Maricopa and Pinal Counties until 11:45 AM MST today, October 4. The National Weather Service in Phoenix advises residents to exercise extreme caution, especially if driving.

As of 9:50 AM MST, a dust channel was reported by trained spotters along SR-347 just south of Riggs Road, remaining stationary. This hazard brings visibility to less than one mile, creating hazardous travel conditions.

The advisory primarily impacts rural areas within Maricopa and Pinal Counties, specifically mentioning AZ Route 347 between mile markers 181 and 185.

If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If you are caught in dense blowing dust, pull off the road immediately, turn off your lights, and keep your foot off the brake. This will prevent other drivers from mistaking your vehicle for a moving one and can reduce the risk of rear-end collisions.
