Borough Clerk's Office The Office of the Borough Clerk serves the public by connecting citizens with their local government, leads essential civic processes with professionalism and fairness, and supports a thriving borough through open, accurate, and accessible information. What We Do Support the Borough Assembly Provide administrative support to the Assembly. Serve as parliamentarian during Assembly meetings. Publish and provide public notice of all Assembly meetings. Maintain official recorks of Assembly actions, including ordinances, resolutions, and the Borough Code. Manage Elections Administer all municipal elections - regular, special, and service area. Prepare election petitions and verify signatures for initiatives, referendums, and recall processes. Support Boards & Commissions Coordinate agenda development with borough departments and board or commission chairs. Provide parliamentary guidance during meetings. Process appeals related to administrative or board/commission decisions. Keep accurate records of meetings and proceedings. Maintain Official Records & Documents Serve as the custodian of the official municipal seal. Authenticate documents such as, contracts, ordinances, resolutions and minutes. Oversee the borough's records management program, ensuring proper storage, retention of borough records. Additional Responsibilities Carry out further duties as required by the Fairbanks North Star Borough Code and Alaska Statutes Title 29.
