Booker T. Washington Students Win $12,500 Aviation Scholarships
Five graduates from Booker T. Washington High School's Aviation Maintenance Career Academy received a combined $12,500 through the Pensacola Mayor's Scholarship, sponsored by ST Engineering.
The recipients are Tyson Tang, Vincent Pearson, Brent Nolan, Dylan Law, and Shayleigh Diamond. ST Engineering and the City of Pensacola presented the awards at a senior awards ceremony.
Since establishing the scholarship program in 2019, ST Engineering has donated more than $100,000 to local students pursuing aviation careers.
Mayor D.C. Reeves said the program reflects the company's role in the community. "ST Engineering is on track to become one of our largest private-sector employers, and their continued commitment to education and workforce development creates tremendous opportunities for our young people," Reeves said.
Darryl Seow, Senior Vice President and Head of Airframe Services at ST Engineering, said the company funds the scholarships annually to support students entering the aviation field. "Congratulations to these outstanding students," Seow said.
