Public Tour in Spanish Date/Time Date(s) - August 8, 20261:00 pm - 2:00 pm Categories Tours Explore one of Hoyt Arboretum’s three nationally-accredited collections entirely in Spanish. Originally established as a conifer arboretum, Hoyt’s conifer collection is an American Conifer Society reference garden thanks to its diversity, rare and endangered species, and many notable trees, including the first dawn redwood to set cones in North America in 6 million years. A knowledgeable guide will highlight Hoyt’s collections of redwood, spruce, pine, fir, and cedar trees.   Details: Online pre-registration is required. Registration closes 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. Each tour is approximately 60 minutes and the walking distance is about 1 mile. Tours begin and end in the Visitor Center Courtyard (4000 SW Fairview Blvd, Portland, OR 97221) and last approximately 60 minutes. Trails are generally well-graded packed dirt or gravel, but includes some ups and downs and stairs along the way. We ask that participants follow our dog policy outlined in the Education Program Policies. Service animals trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities are welcome.  See the Plan Your Visit page for information about parking, public transit, and Washingtorn Park Free Shuttle access. Public tours are held rain or shine. Participants should dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Please note that the Arboretum is at higher elevation and therefore cooler than much of the surrounding city. Check current conditions at Hoyt Arboretum’s Weather Station on Weather Underground.  If you have a private group interested, you can request a private tour online.  Support Hoyt Arboretum Friends: Public tours are free and coordinated by Hoyt Arboretum Friends. There is no fee to attend, but donations are appreciated and support education programs at Hoyt Arboretum.
