PHS Honors Winter Champions, Kicks Off Spring Sports Season

Pendleton High School celebrated winter sports achievements and launched its spring season at an assembly Wednesday in Warberg Gym.

Athletic Director Mike Somnis introduced all varsity spring sports teams, who gathered at center court while students in the bleachers offered encouragement. Winter sports coaches then recognized athletes who placed at state competitions or earned OSAA All-State honors.

"This was a great assembly to honor the hard work and accomplishments of our PHS winter sports teams and to give our spring athletes a big dose of Buckaroo good luck," Somnis said.

PHS Leadership students followed with class-against-class competitions for spirit points. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors competed while the gym filled with cheers and chants.
