The Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals was created in 1996. This board is governed by the same ordinances as those pertaining to the Contractors Examining Board. The purpose of this board is to serve as an appeal board and hear discrepancies in the interpretation of current codes.The board consists of all the members of the Contractors Examining Board, plus one registered architect and one registered professional engineer, making it a ten-member board. All are appointed by the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners. Each member is selected for a three-year term. Upon expiration of a member’s term, any member who has served in good standing and receives a recommendation of a quorum of the Examining Board shall be eligible for reappointment with no limit on the number of terms consecutive or otherwise.CBAA Committee Membership ApplicationMembership applications are being accepted for architects or engineersAppealsIf a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.ADA AssistanceIf you are a person with a disability who needs special accommodations in order to participate in meeting proceedings, please contact the County Administrator’s Office, by phoning 305-292-4441, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., no later than five (5) calendar days prior to the scheduled meeting; if you are hearing or voice impaired, call "711."Accommodation Request Form

His research aims to equip dentists, often first responders in office emergencies, to manage unexpected situations confidently and effectively. The data he has collected has already improved incident reporting and patient care within the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics.“Research has given me a chance to exercise problem-solving skills that have shaped how I think about situations inside and out of school,” says Poppen. “I’m grateful for the supportive faculty who have helped me grow as a student and future clinician.”Poppen has presented his work at local and national conferences and served in leadership roles for the college’s Student Research Program.
