ST. CLAIR COUNTY, AL – A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for St. Clair County, including Pell City and Moody, effective immediately, by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL. This warning was issued on October 9 at 6:57 PM CDT and remains in effect until October 10 at 3:00 AM CDT.
Residents should prepare for hazardous wind conditions, with peak gusts potentially reaching 50 mph. Damage to porches, awnings, and unanchored mobile homes is possible. Expect large tree limbs to break and some scattered power outages. All remaining efforts to secure property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous.
A Flood Watch is also in effect. Additional rainfall of 1-3 inches, with locally higher amounts, could lead to moderate flooding. Rivers and streams may swell, potentially causing evacuations and rescues. Be prepared for flooded roads and hazardous driving conditions.
