Tropical Storm Warning for St. Clair: Shelter Now, Moderate Flooding Possible

ST. CLAIR COUNTY – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for St. Clair County, effective immediately as of 9:56 PM CDT on October 9. This warning covers Pell City and Moody, and remains in effect until Saturday afternoon.
Residents should shelter immediately from hazardous winds. Peak wind gusts of up to 65 mph are forecast. Last-minute property protection efforts should be completed now. Moderate flooding from heavy rain is also expected, with an additional 1-3 inches of rain possible. A Flood Watch remains in effect. Evacuations and rescues are possible in flood-prone areas. Heed all flood watches and warnings.
