Parkland Fall Fitness & Dance: New Classes for All Ages

Parkland residents seeking to stay active this fall can choose from a variety of fitness and dance programs offered by Parkland Recreation (P-REC). The department's schedule includes structured fitness classes, open play pickleball, hip hop dance, and rebounder fitness sessions for adults 16 and older. Senior-specific classes are also available.
P-REC accepts Silver Sneakers, Optum Fitness Advantage, and Renew Active insurance programs. Discounted rates apply to Parkland residents for classes and memberships.
Structured fitness classes such as Pilates, chair Zumba, yin yoga, and tai chi run weekdays at various morning and evening times. Monthly adult memberships cost $70 for residents and $84 for non-residents. Senior memberships (ages 62+) are $55 for residents and $66 for non-residents. Individual class fees are $7 for residents and $9 for non-residents.
Open play pickleball takes place at the P-REC Gymnasium. The fall schedule runs through Dec. 30, offering sessions Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (non-residents admitted at 10:30 a.m.); and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A yearly pickleball membership costs $55 for residents and $66 for non-residents. Daily passes are $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents. The gymnasium will be closed Nov. 3, Nov. 11, and Nov. 24-27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Cardio Funk Hip Hop Dance Fitness, for adults 18 and older, meets the first Friday of each month from 6-7 p.m. Upcoming sessions are Nov. 6 and Dec. 4. Each class costs $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents.
Rebodi Bounce, a rebounder fitness class, runs its second session through Dec. 20. Classes are held Mondays from 12-12:45 p.m. Session 2 costs $105 for residents and $126 for non-residents. A drop-in rate is $20 for residents and $24 for non-residents.
