Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Craighead, Greene, Poinsett Counties

Residents in Craighead, southwestern Greene, and northwestern Poinsett Counties are urged to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building immediately. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Memphis, effective until 11:15 PM CDT tonight, September 21.

At 10:19 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Minturn, or near Hoxie, moving southeast at 15 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. Radar indicates these hazards.

Expected impacts include hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Areas affected include Jonesboro, Bono, Brookland, Lake Frierson State Park, Weiner, Cash, Egypt, and other surrounding communities.

This warning is in effect until 11:15 PM CDT. For your safety, shelter inside immediately.
