Troy University Online Education Degrees in Alabama

Troy University will offer seven undergraduate education degree programs fully online starting Fall 2026, allowing students to earn Alabama teaching licenses without attending campus classes.
The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences will launch online versions of programs in collaborative and special education, early childhood education, elementary education, and secondary education in English language arts, history, and social science.
Coursework will be asynchronous. Students must complete field experience and internship requirements in person, as mandated by the Alabama State Department of Education.
"We would not offer these programs online if we could not maintain the standards and integrity associated with TROY's Teacher Education Program," said Dr. Joe Johnson. "TROY's history started as a teachers' college, and we take very seriously our role in maintaining the outstanding reputation of our programs, either in-person or online."
The programs target non-traditional students who cannot attend campus classes. Faculty members across the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences designed the curriculum to maintain the same rigor as Troy's in-person offerings.
Prospective students can contact the Department of Teacher Education at [email protected] for information about the programs.
