Palm Beach Residents: Oct 2 Deadline Looms for FAA Flight Restriction Comments Amidst Traffic Woes

Palm Beach residents face ongoing traffic disruptions from various construction projects and have a final opportunity to comment on proposed permanent flight restrictions. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) accepts public comments on these restrictions through October 2, 2026.

These updates affect daily commutes and community input on air traffic. Residents should submit specific, fact-based comments detailing how flight patterns may affect their property or community before the October 2 deadline.

Scheduled work includes Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects, town-wide undergrounding, and watermain work. Drivers should expect potential delays due to milling, paving, and other construction activities. Access to homes will always be maintained. Traffic personnel and flaggers will assist motorists to ensure safety.

Specific lane closures with flaggers are in place at Pendelton and Cocoanut Row, North Lake Way between Dunbar Road and Sanford, and Cocoanut Row between Royal Poinciana Way and Pendleton (Southbound). Additional lane closures with flaggers will occur today, September 21, at 1021 North Ocean Blvd, 1197 North Lake Way, and 203 Royal Poinciana Way. From September 21-26, flaggers will be at 337 Worth Avenue. Tomorrow, September 22, lane closures with flaggers are scheduled for 1072 North Ocean Blvd and 801 South County Road. Flaggers are also in place on North Lake Way between Debra Lane and El Pueblo.

Road closures, allowing local traffic only, are in effect at Crescent Drive, North County Road at Dunbar Road, North County Road between Dunbar and Miraflores, and the 100 Block of Seaview Avenue. A road closure at 599 South County Road began today, September 21, and will continue through October 2.

Sidewalk work on South County Road between Brazilian Avenue is underway this month, September 2026.
