Boca Raton Waterways Health Alert After Wastewater Spill

The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County issued a health alert for Boca Raton waterways after a wastewater spill entered the Intracoastal Waterway system. The advisory warns against swimming and irrigating in affected areas near the Boca Raton Resort. The spill occurred near Camino Real, which connects to the Intracoastal Waterway northwest of the resort.

The city of Boca Raton is working with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection on testing and cleanup. Health officials urge anyone in the affected zones to wash thoroughly, especially before eating or drinking, as contaminated water can pose health risks. Children and the elderly should avoid any exposure.
