SAMIS Application Guide: Local Funding Projects

Palm Beach County residents and organizations pursuing local renewal and new projects through the 2024/2025 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition must use the SAMIS application system. Elcana Dantzler, Contracts/Grants Coordinator, offers guidance for completing these applications.

Returning users can log in using their existing email and password in the 'Existing User' section. New users must create an account in the 'New User' section by providing their first name, last name, and email address. An account activation email, titled 'SAMIS:PBCC: Account Activation,' will be sent with a temporary password.

Applicants must accept SAMIS terms of use before starting. To begin or continue an application, users need the NOFO Invitation Code, found in the SAMIS Access Guide.

The application includes a status panel with green checkmarks for completed sections and red 'X' marks for incomplete ones. Applicants should verify they are using the correct application by checking the NOFORFP.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. The system allows adding additional reviewers or editors through the 'Additional Editors' field on the first page. Entered names will allow applications to appear in their respective application lists.

Users will need to download, complete, and re-upload several documents. Guidance documents, like the ESG FY 2022-2023 NOFO Guidance Document, are available for download. Documents must be re-uploaded in the specified formats and with the correct naming conventions.

Each section concludes with a checkbox labeled 'Mark this Section Completed.' This box should only be checked when the section is fully finished. Users can revisit sections if the box remains unchecked. All section completion boxes must be checked to submit the application.

The 'Save & Continue Later' button at the end of each section saves progress and directs users to an application preview/summary page. 'Next' and 'Back' buttons facilitate navigation between sections.
