Palm Beach County Funds Homeless Housing Projects

Palm Beach County is offering funding for local organizations to create new housing projects for people experiencing homelessness. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), working with the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners Community Services Department, announced a funding opportunity for its 2024 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition. This funding specifically targets new Rapid Re-housing and Permanent Supportive Housing projects for the 2025-2026 program year.

The announcement, released Aug. 12, 2024, detailed how local entities could apply to develop these projects. The application deadline was Sept. 11, 2024, at 12 p.m. EST. This funding aims to increase the availability of housing and support services for individuals and families facing homelessness in the county.

The program notice outlined eligibility requirements, expected services, and the review process for new local projects. Applicants could find necessary documents and instructions online. The Palm Beach County Homeless and Housing Alliance, part of the Community Services Department, coordinates these local efforts.
