Boca Raton residents can pick up sandbags to prepare for anticipated heavy rains and stormy conditions. The Public Works Department has established two locations where residents can access sand, bags, and shovels.

The predicted stormy weather could lead to flooding, erosion, debris and pollution along beaches and in harbors, and potential structural damage to private and public properties. To mitigate these risks, the city is providing sandbag materials.

Sandbag pickup stations are available at the Public Works Yard, 544 N Gertruda Ave., and the Public Works Parks Yard, in the parking lot at 1513 Beryl St. Each site has a dumpster filled with sand, along with bags and shovels. Residents are limited to 15 sandbags per household.

Sandbag supplies are free for Boca Raton residents during operational hours, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents are encouraged to prepare their properties in advance of potential storm impacts.
