TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announces four appointments to the First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announces four appointments to the First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission. First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission Jeff Aaron, of Tallahassee, is a Founding Shareholder at DownsAaron. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and his juris doctor from the University of Florida. Aaron is appointed for a term ending July 1, 2030. Jason Hilborn, of Tallahassee, is a Deputy Attorney General for the Florida Office of the Attorney General. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from Harvard Law School. Hilborn is appointed from a list of nominees recommended by the Florida Bar for a term ending July 1, 2030. Lazaro Fields, of Tallahassee, is a Partner at Continental P.L.L.C. He earned both his bachelor’s degree and his juris doctor from Florida State University. Fields is appointed from a list of nominees recommended by the Florida Bar for a term ending July 1, 2030. Benjamin Gibson, of Tallahassee, is a Partner at Shutts & Bowen L.L.P. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from Florida State University. Gibson is appointed for a term ending July 1, 2027.

Utility Fees and Service Charges 2025 Rates and Fees—Effective as of October 1, 2025 Pursuant to Section 21-17 of the Code of Ordinances, all rates established herein shall be adjusted on an annual basis by an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the all-urban consumer price index (CPI) for May of each year and shall be effective October 1 of each year. The maximum CPI increase shall be limited to ten percent (10%). Base facilities charges, also known as readiness-to-serve, will be billed monthly in accordance with Ordinance O-08-2014.

Office of Community Revitalization To Host 2026 Dog Day Fall Festival - Heart & Paws Celebration: Rescuing Pets, Strengthening Families Event

"The Palm Beach County Office of Community Revitalization (OCR) is proud to host the Heart Paw Celebration, a countywide community event taking place on Saturday, September 19th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at John Prince Park, Eric Call Pavilion, located at 2700 6th Avenue South, Lake Worth Beach. Hosted in collaboration with Parks & Recreation, Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Dog Days Palm Beach, 518 Pet Market Place, the Palm Beach Obedience Club and many other dedicated partners, this fun-filled event is free and open to the public. This family-friendly event is designed to promote pet adoption, health and wellness, and community connection. Families and pet lovers are encouraged to bring both their two-legged and four-legged members for a full day of meaningful activities. All dogs must be on a leash. The celebration will feature a pet adoption event where all adoption fees are waived. New pet parents will receive starter supplies. The celebration will bring together adoptable pets, rescue organizations, local vendors, food trucks and community resources for a full day of interactive activities for residents of all ages. Featured experiences include pet adoptions, an Adoption Runway and Fashion Show, dog contests, AKC Canine Good Citizen activities, the Books & Barks Reading Circle, Kindness Garden, Paw-Lates, family and youth activities, a Cooling Zone, photo opportunities, prizes, raffles and giveaways.
