Palm Beach County Honors Local Achievements & Awareness Months
Palm Beach County commissioners recently recognized Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, National 4-H Week, and local achievements including racer Alessio Tosti and the legacy of Alfonso "Alfy" Fanjul Jr.

Palm Beach County residents and initiatives received recognition at recent Board of County Commissioners meetings. Mayor Baxter presented proclamations acknowledging significant local efforts and individuals.
During the Oct. 6, 2026, meeting, commissioners declared October 2026 Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month to raise awareness and promote prevention strategies. The board also proclaimed Oct. 4-10, 2026, as National 4-H Week, celebrating the program's contributions to youth development.
Alessio Tosti received an honor for representing Team USA at the 2026 Grand Rotax Finals. Commissioners also recognized the life and legacy of Alfonso “Alfy” Fanjul Jr. for his contributions to the community.
Earlier, on Sept. 1, 2026, commissioners proclaimed September 2026 Big Brothers Big Sisters Month, acknowledging the organization's role in mentoring county youth.
