West Palm Beach commuters face significant traffic disruptions this week as FEC/Brightline Railroad begins maintenance on several key railroad crossings. The closures will impact travel from the historic Northwood neighborhood to areas south.
The 15th Street railroad crossing closed Thursday, September 24, at 6 p.m. and will reopen Monday, September 28, at 6 p.m. This closure concludes today.
Following immediately, the 49th Street railroad crossing closes Monday, September 28, at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to reopen Thursday, October 1, at 6 p.m. Commuters heading toward the Flagler Drive corridor should seek alternative routes.
The Banyan Boulevard railroad crossing will close Thursday, October 1, at 6 p.m. and reopen Saturday, October 3, at 6 p.m. Motorists accessing CityPlace should allow for extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
FEC/Brightline Railroad advises residents to follow all posted detours to navigate around the work zones.
