Wind Advisory Issued for Esmeralda, Nye, Lincoln, and Clark Counties
A Wind Advisory has been issued for Esmeralda, Nye, Lincoln, and Clark Counties, with south winds gusting up to 55 mph expected from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning, potentially impacting driving and causing power outages.
Residents in Esmeralda and Central Nye County, Lincoln County, and Western Clark and Southern Nye County should prepare for strong winds. A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Las Vegas NV, effective from Saturday, October 10th at 2 PM PDT, until Monday, October 12th at 5 AM PDT.
South winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph, with gusts between 45 and 55 mph. There may be a temporary decrease in wind activity late Saturday night through Sunday morning before winds strengthen again Sunday afternoon.
These conditions can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. The NWS advises using extra caution if you must travel. Furthermore, gusty winds may cause unsecured outdoor objects to blow around, and there is a possibility of tree limbs being downed and localized power outages.
To ensure safety, the NWS urges all residents in the affected areas to secure any loose outdoor objects.
