Residents in Southeastern Elko County, White Pine County, Northwestern Nye County, and Northeastern Nye County should prepare for a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Elko, Nevada. The advisory is effective from Saturday, October 10, at 11 AM PDT until Monday, October 12, at 5 AM PDT.

South to southwest winds are expected to reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts potentially as high as 50 mph. These strong winds can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. The NWS advises using extra caution when on the roads.

Property owners should secure any unsecured outdoor objects to prevent them from being blown around. The advisory also warns that tree limbs could be blown down, and isolated power outages may occur. Strong winds on Saturday afternoon could also reduce visibility to one mile or less in some areas due to blowing dust.

This advisory was issued by NWS Elko NV.
