Wind Advisory Issued for Esmeralda, Nye, Lincoln, Clark Counties
A Wind Advisory has been issued for Esmeralda, Central Nye, Lincoln, Western Clark, and Southern Nye Counties, with south winds up to 45 mph expected from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning.
Residents in Esmeralda, Central Nye, Lincoln, Western Clark, and Southern Nye Counties are advised to secure outdoor objects and use extra caution when driving due to a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Las Vegas NV.
South winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. This advisory is in effect from 2 PM PDT on Saturday, October 9, until 5 AM PDT on Monday, October 12.
Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, and there is a potential for tree limbs to be blown down and a few power outages to occur. The NWS notes a likely lull in winds from late Saturday night through Sunday morning before winds increase again Sunday afternoon.
Driving can be difficult under these conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Drivers are urged to use extra caution.
