Boston Legacy FC's transition to a dedicated home at White Stadium in Franklin Park faces significant delays and escalating costs.

The professional soccer team currently plays home matches at two interim venues: Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. This arrangement arose because planned renovations to White Stadium missed the team's inaugural season.

In May 2025, the team announced it would play its entire first season at Gillette Stadium. Further complicating its schedule, seven of the team's 15 home matches in 2026 will take place at Centreville Bank Stadium due to conflicts with the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup at Gillette Stadium.

The revitalized White Stadium aims to be the nation's first venue hosting a major league sports franchise and a public high school's athletic program, shared with Boston Public Schools for track and soccer. To protect the playing surface, American football games will be prohibited until after the professional soccer season, except for Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association playoffs and Thanksgiving games.

Initial plans in December 2023 projected renovation costs with the City of Boston committing up to $50 million and Boston Public Schools pledging $30 million. By February 6, 2026, the estimated cost for revitalizing White Stadium had surged to $325 million. This includes $135 million in public funding from the City of Boston and $190 million in private funding from the team.

The team's goal remains to play at White Stadium following a multi-year renovation project funded jointly by the team and the city. The stadium, originally opened in 1949, had fallen into disrepair, with parts of the east side condemned since a fire in the 1990s.
