Page City Council Approves $86M Budget for 2027
The Page City Council voted May 27 to tentatively adopt the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, which projects $70 million in revenues against $86 million in expenditures. The council will finalize the budget June 24, with it taking effect July 1.
The Downtown Beautification Project leads the spending plan, funding improvements to public spaces, pedestrian connectivity, parking, and a redesign of Elm Street. The city also budgeted for roadway improvements on Vista Avenue and North Navajo Drive, design of a roundabout at Coppermine Road and Haul Road, and pedestrian work along the Haul Road corridor.
Other investments include development of a BMX Pump Track, a master plan for PERA and an amphitheater, and planning for public facilities. The city will study long-term options for a community pool.
Public safety funding covers police, fire, emergency communications, and technology upgrades. The council approved a new Assistant City Manager position to handle strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
The city maintains a $12 million emergency reserve as part of $27 million in total reserves. As of April, the city held $60 million in cash across various funds. City Manager Frank Marbury said anticipated land sale revenues may support capital improvement projects.
