Sarasota County Schools is accepting applications for a limited number of Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) openings for the upcoming school year. The VPK program provides free, high-quality preschool education to all four-year-olds in Florida, regardless of family income, to build foundational skills for kindergarten and beyond.
Sarasota County Schools' VPK program, serving communities from Nokomis to Osprey, uses a play-based curriculum. The curriculum nurtures children's curiosity and love for learning through engaging activities that develop social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
VPK openings are limited and fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Families should apply early to secure a spot, particularly those living near Little Sarasota Bay.
Prospective families can learn about eligibility requirements and the application process on the Sarasota County Schools website or by contacting a local VPK provider.
