Tequesta residents have an opportunity to gain an inside perspective on how their village operates through the Resident's Academy 2027. This free, seven-week program offers direct access to Village leaders and staff, providing a comprehensive understanding of municipal operations.

The academy runs from February 3, 2027, to March 17, 2027. It aims to facilitate direct interaction with Village leadership, explain budget formulation, and build connections among community members. Participants will learn about various departments, including Public Safety, Public Works, Utilities, Building, Human Resources, IT, Parks and Recreation, Finance, Police, and Fire.

Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with some exceptions for facility tours. For instance, the Session 2 facility tour on February 10, 2027, begins at 4:30 p.m., covering Public Safety, Public Works, and Utilities. Another tour at the Parks and Recreation Center during Session 5 on March 3, 2027, starts at 5:30 p.m.

The program is limited to 25 residents. Eligibility requires participants to be 18 years or older and current residents within Tequesta's incorporated limits. Full attendance is necessary to receive a certificate of completion and gain the maximum benefit from the curriculum. An application for the academy will become available later this year.
